| Sustainable development: Meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs |
China is focusing its efforts on sustainable development after its economy has experienced phenomenal growth over the last twenty years. To further promote China's sustainable development, some developed countries and international organizations such as the Netherlands provide funding and other resources to assist China in its capacity building, technology transfer, and information dissemination, etc. These efforts and assistance have led to many successful projects and significant achievements.
To further its cooperation in the field of sustainable industrial development, the Dutch government and the Chinese government reach an agreement on a four-year project sponsored by the Dutch government: Sino-Dutch web-Based Solution for Sustainable Industrial Development.
As the widespread use of internet, the network technology has become powerful tools in accelerating and disseminating knowledge and information relating to sustainable industrial development. The project aims at:
Constructing an effective communication platform between government agencies and industrial enterprises, industrial enterprises and scientific research institutes, and industrial enterprises themselvesSpeeding up the information communication and its efficiency by utilizing advanced IT technologyImproving existing information management, communication and dissemination channels
The project deliverable will be a web-Based solution system, which provides necessary information management, communication and dissemination services required in the process of the sustainable industrial development. Meanwhile, more web-Based knowledge dissemination and management tools will be developed.
The project targets at three kinds of groups:

The ultimate objective of our project is to provide knowledge information, solution plan, management tools and other products and services to facilitate sustainable industrial development and provide communication channels and value-added services for our core users by setting up a specialized network platform.
